And a quote

Fortune favors the brave(bold)- Virgil

for·tune

ˈfôrCHən/

noun
1.chance or luck as an external, arbitrary force affecting human affairs

brave

brāv/

adjective

having or showing mental or moral strength to face danger, fear, or difficulty

bold

bōld/

adjective
1.(of a person, action, or idea) showing an ability to take risks; confident and courageous

Originally, when I read this quote I thought yeah! That’s right fortune favors the bold, but when I looked into the definition of fortune, I thought maybe not so much. Sir Virgil I beg to differ with your thoughts on being bold. By being bold or brave one does not leave their life to chance. They are taking a step and pushing their personal comfort levels. That is not an arbitrary force. That is the human force of will. So then, a person may stumble across fortune but ability to be brave or bold is opposite of fortune.

I do agree being bold can cause great things to happen in a persons life but it is not an arbitrary force!

When a person chooses to be bold or brave I believe it has positive impacts on the mind and encourages growth. Great article on Thrive Global by Sarah Bilck. If you choose to move forward into the unknown, you will open yourself up to personal growth. The further outside your comfort zone you go, the greater the growth.

“One can choose to go back towards safety or forward toward growth.” ~ Abraham Maslow

So, be bold, be brave and step out in faith.
