When coping with life issues it usually involves people I care about. Family, friends, significant others.
A lot of times those people play a role in the feelings I am experiencing.
It is easy to let hurt and anger override more positive emotions. Usually because I feel justified in my pain.
Emotional Pain defined:
b : acute mental or emotional distress or suffering.
Too much expectation in someone or something.
1. a strong belief that something will happen or be the case in the future.
2. a belief that someone will or should achieve something.

“Unmet expectations often lead to the full range of negative emotions: anger, fear, disappointment, jealousy, annoyance, bitterness, resentment, envy and insecurities.
Unmet expectations about the past create regret, grief, sorrow, shame and sadness.
Projected unmet expectations about the future create depression, anxiety, feelings of inadequacy, impatience and hopelessness.”
Pain = Unfair or Unmet expectations.
Others are not responsible for my pain just because they are not fulfilling or meeting my expectations.
feeling or showing satisfaction with one’s possessions, status, or situation
So, to bring about contentment.. let go of unfair/unmet expectations.
Contentment brings about peace and peace breathes new life into a withered heart.
“A heart at peace gives life to the body,…”(Proverbs 14:30)
In order to let go of expectation I need faith, hope and love.
“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”(1 Corinthians 13:13)
Why is the greatest of these Love?
I think if I can remember my love for the people that cause me pain I am forced to let go of that hurt and heal.
“Be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you”(Ephesians 4:32)
Love covers all.
“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” (1 Peter 4:8)
Without love I will wallow in my misery. Time to let go of that hurt, no matter how justified I feel, and allow love to heal my heart.
“A joyful heart makes a cheerful countenance, but sorrow of the heart crushes the spirit.”(Proverbs 15:13)
